Happiness is a space we all strive for, it’s a relative term but knowing there is a path to being happier is comforting. We know avoiding discomfort is a natural tendency, however it’s not the best path for us emotionally to ignore our own instincts and feelings. I am passionate about helping others with their discomfort through talk therapy in order to find their happier place! Knowing you have total permission to talk about anything and everything in a confidential space is a relief to most people; and then using strategies to make positive change in your own life is an empowering life-long skill that we can develop together based on your unique situation.
Working in a private practice allows me to utilize various techniques of counseling and psychotherapy. I have had the privilege of providing therapy to a wide array of clients and I adapt a treatment approach based on client goals. Sometimes in session we deal with the “here and now” and work towards resolution of specific issues and other times it may be necessary to unwind a person’s past. One’s life story as it relates to his or her behavior is a fascinating self-exploration exercise that everyone should have the chance to experience – especially given the fact that understanding self is imperative to acceptance and/or change.
